As my good friend Zack has shared, there are many kinds of weather: external (sun, rain, snow, wind, floods, hurricanes…); internal (joy, sadness, anger, loneliness, grief..); relational (arguments, intimacy, separation, reunion…), etc.
Similarly, there are many ways of handling it (acceptance, resistance, anger, willing allowance, avoidance, dressing appropriately, etc.). How do you typically handle your weather?
A 113 year old man, when asked about the secret of his longevity, said,
“When it rains, I let it.”
Yup, it CAN be that simple. Give it a try and give yourself a much needed break from reactions.
